north by northwest-a hitchcock thriller!

North by northwest-a thriller!
North by northwest originally "in a north-westerly direction" probably Hitchcock’s best work excluding psycho and rear window released in 1959 and grossed over 13 million in the box. North by northwest is about a playboy advertisement executive Roger Thornhill (Carey Grant). Who is framed for murder by international criminals who thinks he is a government agent. With the help of seductress eve Kendall (Eva Marie saint) he manages to get framed, become a fugitive of the law, get chased across country, gets hit, gets shot at, gets laid and has to climb down the side of Thomas Jefferson’s head all in a matter of days it that isn’t a fast paced thriller I don’t know what is. Some key scenes are when Roger is kidnapped by the villainous van dam and is forced to drink scotch which to me sounds like a great Friday night in, and then he is pushed into a car and made to drive whilst intoxicated on a dirt road on the side of a cliff. The sound track by Nacio herb brown works well with the fast pace and suspenseful theme of the film but the lighting is somewhat to be desired as it is almost too bright in something’s making everything around carry grant glow like he’s giving off nuclear radiation and the man himself looks like he’s fallen asleep in a tanning bed as he has burnt-orange leathery skin. Overall the acting is good on a whole as all performances are believable and all thought the climax scene somewhat lets the film down as it is simply to ludicrous to be believed the rest of the film is action packed and will leave you wanting more
